Book - “Information and Communication Technologies for Humanitarian Services” Published by the Faculty Member of CSE Department

Lt Col Muhammad Nazrul Islam, PhD, Sigs of CSE Department published an edited book titled “Information and Communication Technologies for Humanitarian Services” in August 2020. The book is published by the UK based world renowned publisher the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).The unveiling ceremony of the book is held on 17th November, 2020 in the premises of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST). The book is unveiled by Maj Gen Md Wahid-Uz-Zaman, Commandant, MIST. In this great occasion, respected commandant highly appreciated Lt Col Nazrul for his prodigious success. He also encouraged everyone to devote themselves in such kind of great scholarly works. Col Shajahan Majib, Head of the CSE department is also present in this book unveiling ceremony and expressed his heartfelt congratulation to Lt Col Nazrul.

This book covers new developments, innovations, and research outcomes for the creation and deployment of effective ICT technologies and solutions to support humanitarian services. This coverage includes theories as well as information, mobile and networking applications that foster connectivity and communications technologies for humanitarian services; ICTs in disaster mitigation, relief and recovery; humanized and inclusive education; technologies for the women, disabled and aged populations; big data and blockchain for humanitarian engineering; and the adoption of ICTs in humanitarian sectors. The book comprises a total of 16 chapters (393 pages) contributed by distinguished scholars and professionals from various universities and organizations around the globe, that includes USA, Ireland, Spain, Finland, Romania, China, India, Philippines, Chile, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and Bangladesh.
